Miriam Engle began her musical studies at the young age of 6. At 9 years old, she chose the harp as her major instrument and enrolled in a professional program at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City. In 1985, having received a Performance Degree from this institute, she became a student of Arlene Wangler at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Postdam. Miriam also holds a Masters of Music Performance from the Mannes College of Music in New York City where she was a student of Gloria Agostini. She has performed at the Spoleto Music Festival and at the National Music Camp at the Interlochen Center for the Arts.
Currently she freelances in the Metropolitan area performing with many professional orchestras, opera companies and chamber groups, as well as accompanying singers including Tony Bennett and Daniel Rodriguez. |
